Gateway Community Church

 Welcome to Gateway Community Church!
Gateway Community Church is a family-oriented church that believes in living, proclaiming, and teaching Jesus.

We believe the church is more than just a building - it is the people who serve and are served there. People from a wide variety of backgrounds worship and learn together at Gateway, desiring to truly connect with God and each other.

Whether you are visiting the Mayville area, have recently moved here, or are a long-time resident taking a new interest in finding a church, we welcome you to visit us.

Gateway is a place to discover what life is all about - family, friends, values, hope, truth, faith, and love. We have found that all this is possible, and much more, when we have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We are here to help seeking individuals (those who are wondering about God) in the Mayville area develop a personal, devoted relationship with Christ through:

real-life applications of the Bible
personal relationships with each other
learning and studying in small group settings
being involved in the community, and
church services that are real, meaningful and relevant to everyday life

Gateway Community Church welcomes visitors from all backgrounds.

 About Gateway: What to Expect
We know that first-time visits to a new church can be intimidating for some, and we want to make sure you know what to expect when you visit. Here are some guidelines on what you can expect when you come to visit us:

A warm welcome.
We won't single you out, put you on the spot or embarass you! Our friendly greeters will welcome you and help you find coffee, the nursery, the restroom... whatever you need.
If you arrive early and don't see many people around - don't be worried! We tend to be a late-arriving crowd, and many of our regular attenders arrive just before the
service begins.

If you don't know anyone when you arrive, you're sure to before you leave! If it makes you feel more comfortable to know someone before you arrive, contact us today and meet someone over the phone, or arrange to meet us in person.

We welcome folks from all backgrounds - whether you're a regular churchgoer, new to this whole "church" thing, or just searching for something spiritually.

Casual dress.
Relax and be yourself! Feel free to wear jeans and a t-shirt, your Sunday best, or anything that feels comfortable.

Fresh coffee, and tea are available before and after the service. Help yourself!

A relevant message.
If it doesn't matter on Monday, why do it on Sunday? Positive, biblically based messages help you deal with real life issues. If you'd like to read some past messages, you can click here.

No formal offering.
At Gateway, we do not take an offering. If you would like to give, you can place your gift in the offering box at the back of the auditorium.

Don't worry if you don't have a Bible.
We have Bibles available in the seats, in case you forget to bring yours. If you don't own one - take one of ours home to keep!

Children's Church and Nursery.
You need to be sure your kids are in a safe environment, and we know your kids want to have fun. Our teaching volunteers love children, and work hard to provide a safe, fun and educational children's program. All our volunteers have passed a criminal background check. After our time of music, your children are welcome to join other children in Children's Church, or stay with you.

Great music.
Don't worry if you can't find the choir, hymnals or organ. There aren't any. Instead, our music team plays a mix of songs from energetic modern music to prayerful, thoughtful music to older hymns. The music is led by guitars, drums, and keyboards, and lyrics are displayed on a screen in front. We encourage you to sing along, but if you don't want to sing that's OK - feel free just to listen.
