Elders Meeting

Attending: Pastor Bob,  Dino Calarco,  John Regner,  Steve Lein, John Schweitzer

7:00AM  Prayer/Devotional:  Bob spoke on Mark 8:27-33

7:10-7:20 am Accountability Sheet & Prayer – we need to make our weekly calls regularly and holding each other accountable.  Changes – Steve calls Bob, Bob calls Dino.

7:20-8:20 am Action Items:

Ø     There was much discussion regarding the music ministry in light of Rick Warren’s comments.  A meeting with people involved with music will be set up.

Ø     Elder Apprentice  - Will contact Jason Campbell

Ø     Deacon reviews – budget reviews should be in by now

Ø     Elder phone calls – finish calling your list of people

Ø     GLBC Annual Meeting Oct. 19-20 Kingsford, MI Immanuel Baptist  (FYI)

Ø     Faith Teams/Assimilation-Dino said no women were available yet,  Marlee?  Trish?  Visits should be made to the Awana families.

Ø     Patrick Brown pick-up/drop off:  look for people to help out

Ø     Scrip pick-up schedule:  Using the setup schedule to determine who will get the Scrip on Sunday mornings

Ø     Saturday night advent services – possible kick off to Sat. nite service

Ø     Personnel Manual Team- ask Jim Powers? Brian Schmidt? Tracy Heron?

Ø     Elder Retreat – January?

Ø     Switch Bob’s retirement fund to BGC – done

Ø     Communion Hypocritical in Auditorium? It is not, we have permission.

Ø     Bi-vocational Pastor Youth/Music etc… Special meeting to be set up as stated above.

Ø     Create a more loving atmosphere.  It’s a matter of individual perspective.

Ø     No Man Left Behind leadership conference-Hosting??   Nothing decided for sure.

Possible next meeting scheduled for October 12, 2007, 7:00AM to review ministries, budget numbers, any unresolved issues.  Also meeting set for Oct 26, 7:00AM.
