6:30 PM Opening Prayer and Devotional: Pastor Bob. Mark 4:35 – 41 “Were the disciples any LESS safe when Jesus was sleeping?” No – it just seemed that way! We are in God’s care even when He seemingly is not aware of our predicament – we can trust in Him.

Financial

Pastor Bob reminded us that summer can be a time of financial challenge – and that particularly when pastors take a sabbatical there can be a loss of momentum – a matter of prayer and planning.
Old Business:
Ø “Lapgans” – lots of volunteers, Marlee is having numerous training sessions.
Ø Naeir Corporation Membership – done – first catalogue will arrive June 8. One purchase per month,
Ø Graphic artwork for trailer/yard signs – Order progressing.
Ø Mother’s Day flowers report – Raised $240 for DCRL
Ø Servant Keeper Software Upgrade – here – not yet installed.

Ø Sabbatical Coverage: Pastor Bob informed the Deacons that the 6 weeks he will be off will be
covered by Pastor Gene Reynolds (from Madison), for four weeks; Jerry
Wallendahl (from Youth For Christ) for August 12; Pastor Lamar Davis (from
Milwaukee) for August 19. He will talk
to Gene about coverage for emergencies during the first 4 weeks.
New Business:
Ø Eric Szatkowski, internet dangers workshop
o Cost is $500 – M Gmirek will check with Ministerial
Assoc and School District about joint event in the fall.
Ø Gas Give Away
on June 19th
o $1000 requested
to give $10 off gas to 100 vehicles. Lengthy discussion of details (i.e.: location, services offered, goodie
bags, payment options, etc.) Outreach
Committee will continue to work on details. Approval motion by Tammy Schweitzer, second by Trish Powers, approved.
Ø Scrip Report:
Trish showed that the Scrip program has had a net return of approx $5200, but
could be much more. Her examination
showed that if everyone participated, we could eliminate our building debt in
two years. We discussed and decided to
do a drive in the fall to pay off the building in ONE year through Scrip…

Elder Note: Gary Detlaff is taking a 6 month leave from the Elders to attend to personal issues. John Schweitzer has agreed to fill his role for that period.
