 Deacon Meeting Minutes 

 February 27,2007

Members Present :

 Melisa Gmeirk, JoAnn Gouin, Deb Howard, Janet Regner, Jean Detlaff, Trish Powers, Kari Smalley, Tammy & John Schweitzer, Steve Lein, Dino Calarco, Larry Lowrie

Financial Report : With no Church on Sunday we had to take 2500.00 from the Cornerstone savings account to pay extra bills.

Review Minutes :

E- Business:

(Women’s Ministry events) That are planned is fine with every one at the meeting.

(Family/Adult ) That are planned is fine with every one at the meeting.

(New Proposal/Project) To communicate the idea of giving, so the children of Awana and the Church would be challenged to buy a farm animal (s) or something . Trish said she would try to set it up be for Awana quits for the summer. Trish asked if the rummage sale would interfere with Good Friday Service we did not think so but asked her to ask Bob.

( Gods Girls events ) That are planned is fine with every one at the meeting.

Old Business:

Deb Howard is in charge of outreach now.

Kari said nobody went to Elmbrook Church for Children Ministry Conference.

There are three new Kids Church Teacher’s , Stan Miske, Diane Rolefson, Sheri Baron

Trish asked about a computer one was to be donated and has not as of now. We asked Trish to talk to that person to see if they are giving it and when. If not check on prices and get back to us.

New Business /Ministry Updates:

Dino: There will be no 30 hour Famine unless somebody steps up to run it.

Jean: Small Group training went good about nine people showed up. Have New Small Groups Bulletins made up. Jean will bring more training booklets to Church for people how are interested.

Tammy : Bought new laptop for library works good.

Melisa: Wants to put bulletin board on wall at the downtown building look at moving the one in the loft down stairs. Women are not doing Cookie Walk this year because they got about half the cookies then the year before and made about half the money ($650.00) and sold out by 9:00am.

The women challenge the men of Gateway to do some type of fundraiser for Compassion fund.

Kari: Will not have appreciation dinner because children at Awana wants to be there when they give out awards to Teachers and Helpers. Dance will start in about two weeks for the Women.

Please be in Prayer for Children Ministry for a leader because Kari is stepping down after the last

Awana this year to prepare for their adoption.

Larry: talked about buying a cd recorder, but is going to try the old Library computer that has a burner in it.

Trish to talk for Marlee : wants to paint and wallpaper the out side of office and put mailbox in wall.

Bob checked the mailbox will fit. We were all ok with it.

(Clerk ) We are looking for a clerk to make up Agenda’s and Minutes for Deacon Meetings if you are interested in this position let an Elder know.
